A New Home for Jackson Heights. A New Future for Queens.

Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens is bringing Jackson Heights its first dedicated community center. Located at 70-02 34th Avenue, the future Jackson Heights Clubhouse will create a permanent neighborhood destination for young people and families, expanding access to youth development, educational enrichment, and recreation. Building on the Club’s existing after-school programs in Jackson Heights, this investment will create new opportunities for the community to learn, connect, and grow.

The Vision

The Jackson Heights Clubhouse is envisioned as a year-round resource for children, teens, and families. Plans for the facility include a community swimming pool, indoor gymnasium and theater, alongside space for youth development, after-school learning and community activities. As planning and design advance, the Club will continue refining the program offerings to reflect the needs of local families. Facility concepts remain subject to design, approvals, and financing. Specific classes, enrollment opportunities, and schedules will be announced as they are confirmed.

The Location

The future Clubhouse will be located at 70-02 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights, directly across from P.S. 398 and near the 34th Avenue Paseo Park corridor. The property contains approximately 44,000 square feet, with potential for expanded development subject to project planning and approvals. Its location will strengthen the connection between the neighborhood’s existing public schools and a dedicated neighborhood facility.

Project Funding and Supporters

The Jackson Heights Clubhouse was announced with $33.8 million in public investment, including $10 million from Governor Kathy Hochul and New York State and $22.8 million in combined investments from the New York City Council and New York State Assembly. The Club recognizes the leadership of Council Member Shekar Krishnan and Assembly Members Catalina Cruz, Jessica González-Rojas and Steven Raga in advancing this historic investment. Additional philanthropic and community support will help bring the full vision to life.
