IS 10 Beacon
At Beacon I.S.10, we offer a caring and welcoming environment with a variety of different programs for students, youth and adults, all free of charge! For students, we offer programs ranging from the after-school program, tutoring services, SHSAT prep, fitness activities such as soccer for success, and instructional basketball. For youth and adults, we offer programs ranging from ESL, GED preparation classes, and fitness programs such as yoga/pilates, modern dance and salsa classes.
Throughout the year, we also host monthly events that bring families together for learning, connections, and fun. These events lead up to our largest event of the year--our annual Health Fair hosted around May or June, where we partner with community partners and come together to offer free resources, services, and activities for all.
Through our programs, services, and community events, Beacon I.S. 10 provides a safe, supportive environment where everyone can learn, grow, and feel connected.

Afterschool:
IS 10 Beacon has afterschool every school day with a variety of educational and enrichment activities!
Registration for after school & weekend programs: Open all year round. At I.S. 10Q 45-11 31 Avenue Astoria, NY 11103
Dates: Mondays-Fridays
Hours: 2:00 PM-6:00 PM for grades 1-8
Programming: For the programming section, we offer Homework Help, Exploring Futures, Civic Engagement, STEM Club, DIY Club, Photography Club, Global Cultures Club, Nutrition Club, Dance, Project Adventure, Theater, Home Ec, and Sports Media.
Summer Rising:
We offer academic enrichment classes and recreational activities through a collaboration between DYCD and DOE. Registration for Summer 2026 opens soon—date TBD.

Looking for something to do over the weekend? IS 10 Beacon runs weekend programs for kids and families on Saturdays throughout the school year! Reach out to beacon10@bgcqueens.org for registration information!
